Abbey College Manchester students demonstrated their exceptional musical, vocal, and dancing talents during our Annual Festive Evening. The event, which took place at the Unitarian Chapel on Cross Street, was held to raise money for Wood Street Mission – a charity which assists children and families living on a low income in Manchester & Salford.
During the evening, guests were treated to an amazing solo vocal performance from Sabri Carey, 18, from Warrington – a beautiful guitar rendition from Nguyen Nhu Quynh Bui, 15, from Middleton – and a duet from College Principal, Liz Elam, and Assistant Principal, Chris Randell, from Stretford & Salford respectively. They sang ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’ by Fats Waller, followed by Chris’ solo performance of ‘For Me Formidable’ by Charles Aznavor.
Principal, Liz Elam comments: “As always it was a wonderful, joyous occasion filled with laughter and fun, helping to strengthen our college community even more. It was a great opportunity for both students and staff members to showcase their incredible creativity while raising money for a very good cause.
“A special mention must also go to Assistant Head of House, Jonathan Syson, who compered the evening brilliantly as well as Jayne Hayes and Vicki Dawson who organised the refreshments.”
